The 2012 season is likely to see a large number of special events, as well as regular opening days for Swanley Park visitors. Trains run every Saturday and Sunday plus all Bank Holidays, from 11am. During school holidays, trains will operate on weekdays.
New locomotives will be delivered from Mardyke to boost the diesel fleet, supplementing the many steam locomotives in the operating fleet will continue to operate. The new diesel locomotives will feature in a large event in September.
The railway will also operate a special period of operations during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, with services operating as late as 6pm each day.
The ever popular 1812 night, which features fireworks, will also see a number of trains running well into the evening.
As the railway continues to grow, it also seeks new members. People over the age of 18, who would be interested in operating signals, driving trains, or assisting in the maintenance of track, trains or other infrastructure are advised to contact the railway.
