Virgin Trains will operate three services in December to take people to and from Christmas Markets in Chester and Manchester
Virgin Trains, one of Britain’s leading Intercity rail operators, will be taking three train loads of people to the Christmas Markets of Chester and Manchester.
The trains, which will be valid for those carrying special tickets only, are expected to be operated by their “Pendolino” or “Super Voyager” type trains.
As part of the package, passengers will be given 6 hours in Chester, or 8 hours in Manchester, along with what may take the form of coupons for discounts at selected retailers and restaurants.
The Chester service will run on December 1st, from London Euston at 08:14, Watford Junction at 08:33 and Milton Keynes Central at 09:06, prior to an arrival at Chester of 11:22. The return will depart Chester at 17:23, for Milton Keynes at 19:51, Watford Junction at 20:23 and into Euston 20:41.
The Manchester trains will run on December 3rd and December 17th, from London Euston at 08:53, Watford Junction at 09:10 and Milton Keynes at 09:42 for an arrival at Manchester of 11:42. The return will leave at a mildly late 19:59, arriving at Milton Keynes at 21:30, Watford Junction at 21:59, and Euston at 22:17.
As part of the on board experience, First Class passengers will pay £199 for a day return, entitling them to a Champagne Breakfast, and a High Tea for the return. Standard Class passengers will pay £99 for a return, with a breakfast box on the way north, and a snack pack on the inbound leg.
Goodie bags, city maps, and souvenirs will also come as par for the course.
Those travelling to Chester can also choose to book tables at four local restaurants and enjoy a meal with wine for £12.50 per person at lunch, as well as being able to enter into a prize draw where two holidays will be dispensed to the winners.
