Also out were some of the oldest steam engines, such as the SECR “C” and “P” classes, and LBSCR “A1X” and “E4”. Also, a Southern Railway “U” and a Dorking Cement Works industrial.
With an intensive service in operation, which included some interesting shuttle working on the Friday, Horsted Keynes became a scene of hustle and bustle. A demonstration Goods train was also made available, alongside a Brake Van shuttle from Horsted Keynes over the former Ardingly formation.
A new model railway was unveiled at Horsted Keynes, which is included with the usual attractions, such as the Carriage Shed tours.
The Bluebell Railway is currently extending to East Grinstead, which may occur in the Olympic year of 2012.
