What’s not to like about Liverpool? It’s a city with two of pretty much everything – two fabulous cathedrals. Two legendary Premiership teams. And four fab Beatles. Spend the day on a Beatles pilgrimage down Penny Lane and beyond. Get down to the restored waterfront for a dose of maritime heritage. Or get out of town for the races at Aintree and Chester. Being here on Grand National day just has to be experienced...
Historic Lime Street station and nearby Central have a wealth of movements and spotting opportunities for services to and from the north west. Meanwhile, at the stunning Museum of Liverpool, you’ll be able to see the historic 1837 loco ‘Lion’, which once hauled services for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway.
