A choice of no fewer than six different train operators will bring you to Liverpool Lime Street. You can get here on East Midlands Trains from Norwich, TransPennine Express from Scarborough, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Hull. London Midland will take you to and from Birmingham New Street, while Virgin Trains operates a regular high speed Pendolino service to London Euston. Northern Rail , Lime Street’s largest operator, has regional services from right across the North West, and MerseyRail , which uses an underground station at Lime Street, runs local services as far as Chester. A more substantial local service is available from nearby Liverpool Central station.
