The SVR is a standard-gauge heritage railway service running steam-hauled passenger trains between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) is a full-size standard-gauge heritage railway service running regular steam-hauled passenger trains on a 16 mile section of track between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
Staffed almost exclusively by volunteers, the service SVR closely follows the meandering course of the River Severn for most of its journey – and now carries approximately 250,000 passengers every year.
Leave the train at Highley and you can now visit the recently-opened Engine House visitor centre which houses the SVR’s reserve collection of steam locomotives, railway-themed exhibitions, a gift shop and Buffer’s Café with balcony views across the Severn Valley.
Timetables and Engine House opening hours vary throughout the year. Please contact the railway for details.
