Kidderminster Railway Museum houses a varied collection of rail artefacts and one of the largest collections of heritage signalling equipment in the UK.
Kidderminster Railway Museum houses a large and varied collection of historical rail artefacts including signs, clocks, photographs and timetables as well as rolling stock. The museum also features one of the largest collections of heritage signalling equipment in the UK.
Housed in a 19th century grain store built by the Great Western Railway, it was renovated and restored to its original glory and opened as a museum in 1990. Among its key exhibits is the original Midland Railway booking office from Alvechurch, which has been perfectly preserved.
Its extensive photograph, magazine, book and archive collection is held in its own dedicated library and is available for research, although you’ll need to book in advance. The museum also holds events throughout the year, from film shows to postcard fairs and art exhibitions.
