Two unique narrow gauge heritage railways which take magnificent journeys through some of the best scenery in all of Wales.
Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways operate two unique narrow gauge heritage railways which take magnificent journeys through some of the best scenery in all of Wales.
The Rheilffordd Ffestiniog Railway takes a 13.5-mile journey from Porthmadog harbour to the quarry town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Historic trains climb over 700 feet from sea level through pastures and forests and round horseshoe bends, clinging to and tunnelling through the mountain.
The Welsh Highland Railway is North Wales’ newest railway, taking a spectacular 25 mile journey from Caernarfon. Climbing over 650ft from sea level, across the flanks of Mount Snowdon, it zigzaggs down to Beddgelert village and Aberglaslyn Pass to its southern terminus at Pont Croesor.
Timetables vary throughout the year. Please contact the railway for details.
