Crewe Heritage Centre celebrates the town’s unique contribution to UK transport engineering with a whole museum dedicated to rail and road.
As well as three full-scale signal boxes to explore and a family-friendly miniature railway, the centre has two star exhibits in the shape of APT 370003; a vintage APT-P from 1979, and LMS 6201 Princess Elizabeth, a class 7P locomotive from the 1930s.
The centre’s unique location at the junction of the West Coast, North Wales and Manchester lines provides the ideal viewing point to watch present day operations on the main line railway network, both passenger and freight.
